Research & development
Evaluation, laboratory work, data-driven analysis and structured development pathways for sustainable technologies.
RBI International acts as a high-precision interface for research-driven industrial development, connecting laboratory competence, applied biogas technology and scalable sustainability solutions.

RBI International combines scientific orientation with industrial execution logic. The website structure is designed for a clear institutional presence: concise positioning, robust technology themes and a professional path toward contact and project communication.
The current public source material provides only a short orchestrator statement. Therefore this version is intentionally structured as a polished foundation that can be extended with verified company, legal and project details.
Three clear pillars organize the RBI International communication and can later be expanded into detailed pages, case studies and project reports.
Evaluation, laboratory work, data-driven analysis and structured development pathways for sustainable technologies.
Technology concepts for biological conversion, gas systems, process monitoring and integration into industrial contexts.
Technical consulting and project orchestration for resource efficiency, circular systems and resilient infrastructure.
Selected fields of the Robert Boyle Institute: biological hydrogen formation, bioenergy, environmental process engineering and transfer-oriented research for industrial applications.

Focus on biological processes for producing hydrogen and energy-rich gases from organic residues, biomass and suitable process substrates.

Development and assessment of anaerobic processes, treatment steps and technical concepts for using residues and wastewater streams.

Experimental setup, process monitoring and reliable evaluation as a basis for research projects, demonstrators and partner cooperation.
The Robert Boyle Institute develops processes for producing biohydrogen from biogenic waste materials such as organic waste and municipal green cuttings. Key fields include fermentative processes, material use of biomass and anaerobic technology.
With more than 1,300 m² of laboratory and office space, the institute works on research and development projects, contract research, specialised analytics and expert assessments for the evaluation and optimisation of biogas plants.
Since February 2019, RBI has been a member of the Zuse Association and contributes expertise in circular economy, biohydrogen research and bioeconomy.
In 2020, the Jena Biohydrogen Factory was presented as a contribution to the national and international hydrogen strategy. The first 5 m³ biohydrogen reactor was commissioned for further process optimisation.
The institute’s profile covers research and development, consulting, prototype development, software solutions and the development of sustainable bio-based materials.
